Summer this year

It’s almost the end of August. So that means summer is 3/4 over. Can’t wait for September to come so we get to see falling leaves all over again.

What I’ve accomplished during summer break last week:

  • Swam to my heart’s content at the pool
  • Took a break from cooking
  • Read a lot of books than scrolling mindlessly on tiktok
  • Took a lot of pictures
  • Experimenting with a lot of different recipes (no, not for cooking!)
  • Finished putting grass carpet on the balcony. My balcony looks awesome now.
  • Refreshed the plants on the balcony by adding more spices and herbs - I’ve learned rather painfully that flowers can’t live on my balcony
  • Taught Rayyan to do the grocery shopping by himself - saves us a lot of time and trips, and gave him a lot of outside time and confidence!
  • Spent way too much time with the kids, waking up to them having their breakfast is my favorite
  • Found my love for cooking again
  • Went hiking with the kids at Kamakura, and it was a good hike

I don’t know why, but summer this year just doesn’t feel like summer. It’s just not the same vibe. The weather is rather forgiving. So I think it’s my favorite summer ever, this year.

The one thing I failed at though, I kept checking my work phone every other day, except the days when we were at Disney hotel.

Can’t wait till autumn, but if this is the summer we’ll have for this year, I have no complaints.
